Georgia State Guard Joins the Georgia National Guard in Interagency Training Exercise
Georgia State Defense Force (GSDF) Soldiers participated in Patriot 25, a large-scale joint training exercise conducted at the Guardian Centers in Perry, Ga., March 24-26, 2025.
The GSDF joined approximately 700 participants from the Georgia National Guard and federal, state, and local agencies for Patriot 25. This Georgia National Guard-sponsored training exercise was designed to enhance domestic response readiness and interagency coordination.
GSDF Soldiers engaged in a series of rigorous, realistic, and high-stress scenarios designed to enhance their proficiency in urban search and rescue, disaster response, emergency communications, and debris clearing/chainsaw operations. As part of the hands-on experience, GSDF Soldiers recovered victims from beneath a simulated collapsed bridge, conducted mass casualty responses, and performed other operations.
Participation in exercises, like Patriot 25, underscores the GSDF’s commitment to maintaining a high state of preparedness for emergencies and disasters impacting Georgia. By engaging in joint training operations with other military branches and emergency response agencies, the GSDF continues to enhance its ability to effectively support and protect the citizens of the state of Georgia during times of crisis.
