Soldiers from the Louisiana State Guard’s (LASG) Force Protection Team recently supported security operations at Jackson Barracks while soldiers of the Louisiana National Guard conducted their annual training.
With National Guard units mobilized for training exercises across the state, members of the LASG assumed key security responsibilities to ensure the safety and integrity of the installation. Their mission included conducting ID checks at access points, maintaining roving patrols, and reinforcing overall base security operations.
“Our Force Protection Team is trained and ready to support whenever needed,” said Brigadier General Larry Benton, Commander of the Louisiana State Guard. “Assisting at Jackson Barracks during annual training ensures a seamless security presence while allowing our National Guard partners to focus on their mission.”
LASG members bring a wide range of experience from military, law enforcement, and emergency management backgrounds; they are trained to support the Louisiana National Guard and Military Department during emergency response operations, homeland security missions, and key support functions.
This collaboration reinforces the Louisiana State Guard’s mission to enhance the state’s readiness posture and provide vital operational support wherever needed.
