HazMat
The SGAUS “HazMat Basic Badge Training (Operator)” program is crucial for SDFs (State Defense Forces or similar organizations) to equip their personnel with the essential skills to effectively respond to CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive) incidents. By providing training in establishing decontamination sites, conducting ambulatory and non-ambulatory decontamination, and managing military personnel/equipment decon, the program ensures that operators are capable of performing critical, life-saving tasks while adhering to strict safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and operating in confined spaces. The comprehensive curriculum, drawing on FEMA, TEEX, CDP, and Fire Academy resources, guarantees that SDF members are prepared to handle hazardous materials incidents safely and efficiently, safeguarding both themselves and the public.
