Civilian Exceptional Service Ribbon

  1. To whom awarded. The Civilian Exceptional Service Award may be awarded to non-uniformed SGAUS members or persons, not SGAUS members, who have performed honorable service on behalf of SGAUS, or achievement that has significant impact upon the mission of SGAUS and/or a state guard/defense force and reflects favorably on SGAUS.
  2. Recommendations will be forwarded through the President of SGAUS or the state guard/defense force commander to the Awards Committee. The recommendation of the Awards Committee will be presented to the approving authority for its decision.
  3. Succeeding awards. For each succeeding award, an oak leaf cluster will be attached to the award ribbon. A bronze cluster shall represent one additional award and a silver cluster will be worn in place of four bronze clusters.
  4. Approving authority. The approving authority for this award is the SGAUS Executive Committee.

Medal of Merit Service Ribbon

  • To whom awarded: The Medal of Merit may be awarded to SGAUS members or persons, not SGAUS members, who have performed honorable service on behalf of SGAUS or a achievement of merit that has significant impact upon the mission of SGAUS and/or a stage guard/defense force for an act of valor or heroism at the risk of life or personal injury that reflects favorable on SGAUS.
  • Recommendations will be forwarded through the President of SGAUS or the state guard /defense force chain commander to the Awards Committee. The recommendations of the Awards Committee will be presented to the approving authority for its decision.
  • Succeeding awards: For each succeeding award, an oak leaf cluster will be attached to the award ribbon. A bronze cluster shall represent one additional award and a silver cluster will be worn in place of five bronze clusters. A gold star device is worn to represent an award for valor or heroism.
  • Approving authority: The approving authority for this award is the SGAUS Executive Committee.

Medal of Merit Service Ribbon is worn with Red to the left.
