Greetings from SGAUS’ Command Sergeant Major

As we look towards a new year I would like to thank each and every member of our State Defense Forces as well as all of those first responders who have worked the front lines of the pandemic over the last few years. We have seen an unprecedented operational tempo with many (if not) most State Defense Forced seeing an activation. I have witnessed firsthand the professionalism, dedication and selfless service given by our service members. I have heard nothing but praise from the various states and each of you should stand tall and proud of your accomplishments.

In the next year, I look forward in helping lead our organization to be a bigger and better MEMBER DRIVEN organization. As a member of SGAUS…you have a voice! I want you to use that voice for the betterment of State Defense Forces throughout the nation. Participate in the SGAUS programs such as MEMS, Engineer, Chaplain, Medical, JAG and PME Academy. If you have training materials you think could help our programs, please reach out to one of the chairs.

I would like to personally invite each SGAUS member to next year’s SGAUS National Conference which will be held in Dayton, Ohio. The banquet will be held in the U. S. Air Force Museum and planning is underway to make this one of the best conferences yet. My goal over the next year is to see more enlisted troops in attendance and taking part in some of the training programs which are currently under development.

I would like to pass on my commitment and motto of MENTOR, TRAIN, and COACH to each of you. Remember this motto when you give your time and expertise to the newer people. Pass on your knowledge and guide our troops in the ultimate goal of MISSION ACCOMPLISHMENT!!!

If I can ever be of any assistance please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email at either or I look forward to serving with each and every one of you.
